Wensleydale

There are four instances of this cheese (and North Yorkshire valley) on London’s street signs. Wensleydale Avenue is in Ilford, then there’s a trio of Wensleydale Gardens, Wensleydale Passage and Wensleydale Road in Hampton.

Wensleydale

Wensleydale is a style of cheese originally produced in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, England. It is a medium cheese that is supple and crumbly and has a slight honey aroma. The flavour of Wensleydale is suited to combination with sweeter produce, such as sweet apples and some varieties of the cheese contain cranberries or other such fruit.
