Nutmeg

There are two instances of this spice on London’s street signs; Nutmeg Close in West Ham and Nutmeg Lane in Canning Town.

A whole nutmeg seed placed on a small pile of ground nutmeg.

Nutmeg

Nutmeg is the spice made by grinding the seed of the fragrant nutmeg tree (Myristica fragrans) into powder. The spice has a distinctive pungent fragrance and a warm, slightly sweet taste; it is used to flavour many kinds of baked goods, confections, puddings, potatoes, meats, sausages, sauces, and vegetables, and beverages such as eggnog.
