Elderberry
There are three examples of this fruit on London’s street signs; this is Elderberry Road in Ealing while there’s an Elderberry Grove in West Norwood and an Elderberry Way in East Ham.
Elderberries
Elderberries are the fruit of the Sambucus plant. Raw elderberries contain a poisonous alkaloid but become harmless when cooked. They can be simmered down to make cordials or syrups, which can then be added to a variety of desserts and pudding. Elderberries can also be stewed down and served on the side of roast meats such as duck, pork or game.
