Malt
The only instance of malt on London’s street signs, Malt Street is just off the Old Kent Road near Peckham.
Malt
Malt is any cereal grain – but especially barley – that has been made to germinate by soaking in water and then stopped from germinating further by drying with hot air, a process known as ‘malting’. Malted grain is used to make beer, whisky, malted milk, malt vinegar; is used in sweets such as Maltesers; baked goods including malt loaf and bagels, and flavoured drinks such as Horlicks and Ovaltine.
