Coley

The only instance of this fish on London’s street signs, Coley Street is just off the Grays Inn Road near Clerkenwell. However, Coley Street is named for a person rather than a fish: Henry Coley was a 17th-century astrologer and mathematician.

Coley

Coley is a shortened version of Coalfish, which is a species of pollock or saithe. Coalfish is edible but is considered less premium than other whitefish such as cod and haddock. To achieve a salmon-like orange colour, it can be salted and smoked.
