Chestnuts can be eaten candied, boiled, steamed, deep-fried, grilled, or roasted in sweet or savoury recipes. They can be used to stuff vegetables, poultry, fowl, and other edibles. In addition to being consumed fresh, chestnuts can also be canned, puréed, or preserved in sugar or syrup (marrons glacés).
